Black Swan's Steel Anti-Corrosive Closet Bolts are used to secure toilet bowls to the ground.
Historically, when working with closet bolts, there were two choices-brass bolts or steel bolts with brass plating. This was a choice of expensive bolts and no rust or inexpensive bolts and rust. Now, the Black Swan Anti-Corrosive Steel Closet Bolts give you a third option.
Anti-Corrosive Closet Bolts are treated with a special corrosion resistant coating. This coating allows the bolts to be rust resistant. In a 300 hour salt spray test, these bolts did not rust. This bolt is less expensive than brass bolts and a little more expensive than brass plated bolts and the chances of rusting are very small. Each bag contains two bolts, two nuts, two round washers and two plastic stand-up washers.
Place bolt into position on flange with threaded portion up.
Press down plastic stand-up washer on bolt against flange to help keep up straight.
- Apply Black Swan Plumbers Putty and Black Swan Wax Ring to base of toiled bowl. Then, set the toilet down carefully over bolts so threaded portion of bolts corresponds with holes in base of bowl.
Place loose washer on bolts and then apply hex nuts firmly, but not so tight as to crack edge of bowl base.
Cut any remaining threaded portion of bolts above nuts. If desired, decorator cap can then be placed over bolt and nuts.
